A Tribute Chance was a dog who was more all-age bird dog than any person I have ever known could fully handle and realize. His abilities far exceeded the normal and were often misunderstood and certainly misjudged. Without fail, when I ran him and he disappeared and I was told to pick him up, he was either to the front exactly where he was supposed to be or I had left him on point. In my mind and in my heart, there will never be another "Chance". The end of his career marks the end of an era and perhaps the end of my field trial career. Our grief is palpable. This last year Chance was coming into his own and into the spotlight of the Brittany field trial community. He was a force to be reckoned with. in Vic Williams, Chance's owner, life. Vic has handled Chance many times
but it all came together in the 4th hour brace of this event. |
